A Good Laugh
'The family members sat silent as they absorbed the news. After a great length of time, someone asked, 'Well, how much does a brain cost?'The doctor quickly responded, '$5,000 for a male brain, and $200 for a female brain.
'The moment turned awkward. Men in the room tried not to smile, avoiding eye contact with the women, but some actually smirked. A man unable to control his curiosity, blurted out the question everyone wanted to ask,
'Why is the male brain so much more?'The doctor smiled at the childish innocence and explained to the entire group, 'It's just standard pricing procedure.
We have to mark down the price of the female brains, because they've actually been used.

Surgery is complete and he is headed to Rehab soon.
Keep us in Prayer
Thursday, October 23, 2008
Stay in Prayer
As you know, today my brother, your brother, your father, your grandfather and your uncle Robert C Fields Sr. is having major surgery today.
I am asking that everyone stay in prayer today and if you can only get a moment to pray, while in prayer ask God to see him through this surgery and ask God to see that the Doctors are of steady hand and ask God to see that the anesthesiologist is attentive and ask God to see that the operating utensils and room are clean and free of infectious germs and ask God to see that he makes a full recovery and free of long term pain and suffering.
I ask that you say this Prayer in the name of Jesus
Amen
In return for asking all of that of God, you should give him something in return. If there is something you do every day, sacrifice it today as a way of fasting and cleansing yourself for the love of God. I am fasting today; I will not eat any solid foods. I have not solid eaten solid food since 7:00pm yesterday evening and I will not eat solid food until I go to work tomorrow at 7:00am.

I Pray That............. October 2008

You see, joy and depression cannot reside in the same place. It's either up or down, in or out, black or white, there's no room for grey when you pray.
When we worry our minds are always busy, our nerves a little more frayed and bodies a bit more weary. "Worry" is simply the brain over processing the information of an anticipated action, it can also manifest itself physically as an anxiety attack.
When we are worried we should look up to the sky and give thanks for the trial. Adversity can only make you stronger. Whatever the situation is, God has already worked it through, all you have to do is "walk it out". So I pray that we don't worry, and remember to tell God "I trust you".
Remember:
All things work together for good to them that LOVE GOD

I Pray That............ September 2008

With all the praise, honor and glory to my savior Jesus Christ, I ask that you accept these words without judgment or offense.
I Pray that we are "Patience in Practice".
It's said that "Patience is a Virtue", so I'm sure at this time of year when the kids are going back to school and work is little more stressing and to take it to the next level, some of us are already preparing and anticipating the upcoming holiday season.
I mean seems it's not enough time to do anything these days and we want it all done yesterday (and by somebody else), just be patient.
For some, the stress of impatience will manifest itself in anger, depression or even worst.
Some of the symptoms of impatience; suffering from road rage, being quick to judge others (judge not...) negative outburst when things are not done fast enough for us, always have to be done our way. Our impatience makes us lash out at love ones for the smallest of things, just be patient.
RELAX, all things happen in time and not a nanosecond before or after. God does see everything your doing and he's just walking you through it, so take your time you'll get to hold his hand a little longer. I pray that we are patience in practice, in all that we do.
Remember:
Proverbs 14:30
A relaxed attitude lengthens mans life
(A sound heart is life to the body)
It's in Jesus name I say this prayer to you,
AMEN

Joke of the Month.......... September 2008
He immediately phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and George said "no" and explained the situation.
The Police said, "all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his doors and an officer would be there when available".
George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.
"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people breaking into my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I've just shot them all."
Then he hung up and within five minutes, three squad cars, an armed response unit, and an ambulance showed up. The thieves, now in the shed were caught red-handed.
One of the policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"
George responded to the policeman: "I thought you said all patrols were busy and there was nobody available!"

Many of us are faithful church goers and believe in teachings of Jesus Christ, but do we reflect his word in our daily actions? When people look at us we would like them to see the makings of a person with good intentions, compassion, humility, and selflessness to name a few, but are we reflecting these traits in our daily walk or only on Sundays and during church services.
I know we all fall short, but we should all try our best to make sure that when people see us they see the tenents of Christ.
It's in Jesus name I say this prayer to you,
Amen

Joke of the Month..............August 2008
So, wandering about, he notices a leopard heading rapidly in his direction with the obvious intention of having him for lunch. The dachshund thinks, "OK, I'm in deep trouble now!" Then he noticed some bones on the ground close by, and immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the leopard is about to leap, the dachshund exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious leopard. I wonder if there are any more around here." Hearing this, the leopard halts his attack in mid-stride, as a look of terror comes over him, and slinks away into the trees. "Whew," says the leopard. "That was close. That dachshund nearly had me." Meanwhile, a monkey, who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard. So, off he goes.
But the dachshund saw him heading after the leopard with great speed, and figured that something must be up.
The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the leopard. The leopard is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here monkey, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine." Now the dachshund sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back, and thinks, "What am I going to do now?" But instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet ... and, just when they get close enough to hear, the dachshund says..................
"Where's that darn monkey? Sent him off half an hour ago to bring me another leopard."

God says the struggle is over for you.

Joke of the Month...............July 2008
the other is a Great Dane. The poodle turns to the schnauzer and asks "why are you here?"
The schnauzer responds, "I'm 17 years old. I don't see or hear very well. I've been having accidents in the house. My owner says I'm too old and sick so he brought me here to be put to sleep."
The schnauzer asks the poodle "why are you here?"
The poodle responds, "I've not been myself lately. I've been especially high strung. I've been
barking all the time, I've been snapping at people and I even bit one of the
neighbor's kids. Nobody knows why this has been happening. My owner says he
can't risk me biting somebody else so he brought me here to be put to sleep. "The poodle and schnauzer ask the great Dane why he is here. The great Dane responds: "My owner is this beautiful runway model. Yesterday after her
shower, she tried to grab something from the medicine cabinet and dropped her
towel. The next thing I know I'm wrapped around her leg, I just couldn't help myself. "The poodle asks: "so she brought you here to put to sleep?"
"Oh, no...., I'm just here to get my nails
trimmed."

I Pray That..............July 2008

I Pray that we are "Praising through our adversity".
Many of us find it easy to give God the praise when things are all well and good. On the other hand when we find ourselves in a less than desirable moment and we're thinking negative thoughts, our faces are tight and our "presha" is up, God is the last person we are thinking about. As a matter of fact, our first reaction is usually to react in an ungodly manner to what frustrated us.
I Pray that when things are not going the way we would like, the first thing we do is praise our way through it. You'd be surprised what praising God can do for our spirit in the midst of adversity.
Give it a try, we've tried everything else, lets try praising our way through it, lets turn our pressure into praise.
It's in Jesus name I say this prayer to you,
Amen

I Pray That.............June 2008

I Pray that you are living your life with expectation, not of others but of yourself. When you are born your parents have every expectation that you will do your best, try your best and be the best person you can be, but are you living up to that expectation? Some of us are living life "as it comes" and when are dismayed when the results of living that type of lifestyle nets us a negative result. We all fall short but I pray that you are living your life with expectation.
It's in Jesus name I say this prayer to you,
Amen

Happy Father's Day
1. Respect Your Children's Mother
If you are married, keep your marriage strong and vital. If you're not married, it is still important to respect and support the mother of your children. When children see their parents respecting each other, they are also more likely to feel that they are also accepted and respected.
2. Spend Time with Your Children
How a father spends his time tells his children what's important to him. If you always seem too busy for your children, they will feel neglected, no matter what you say. Treasuring children often means sacrificing other things, but it is essential to spend time with your children.
3. Earn the Right to Be Heard
All too often, the only time a father speaks to his children is when they have done something wrong. Begin talking with your kids when they are young, so that difficult subjects will be easier to handle as they get older. Take time and listen to their ideas and problems.
4. Discipline with Love
All children need guidance and discipline, not as punishment, but to set reasonable limits. Remind your children of the consequences of their actions and provide meaningful rewards for desirable behavior. Fathers who discipline in a calm and fair manner show love for their children.
5. Be a Role Model
Fathers are role models to their kids, whether they realize it or not. A girl who spends time with a loving father grows up knowing she deserves to be respected by boys. Fathers can teach sons what is important in life by demonstrating honesty, humility and responsibility.
6. Be a Teacher
Too many fathers think teaching is something others do. But a father who teaches his children about right and wrong, and encourages them to do their best, will see his children make good choices. Involved fathers use everyday examples to help their children learn the basic lessons of life.
7. Eat Together as a Family
Sharing a meal together can be an important part of healthy family life. In addition to providing some structure in a busy day, it gives kids the chance to talk about what they are doing and want to do. It is also a good time for fathers to listen and give advice.
8. Read to Your Children
Children learn best by doing and reading, as well as seeing and hearing. Begin reading to your children when they are very young. When they are older, encourage them to read on their own. Instilling your children with a love for reading is one of the best ways to ensure they will have a lifetime of personal and career growth.
9. Show Affection
Children need the security that comes from knowing they are wanted, accepted and loved by their family. Parents need to feel both comfortable and willing to hug their children. Showing affection every day is the best way to let your children know that you love them.
10. Realize That a Father's Job Is Never Done
Even after children are grown and ready to leave home, they will still look to their fathers for wisdom and advice. Fathers continue to play an essential part in the lives of their children as they grow and, perhaps, marry and build their own families.

MOTHERS
This is for the mothers who have sat up all night with sick toddlers in their arms, wiping up puke laced with Oscar Mayer wieners and cherry Kool-Aid saying, 'It's okay honey, Mommy's here'.
Who have sat in rocking chairs for hours on end soothing crying babies who can't be comforted. This is for all the mothers who show up at work with spit-up in their hair and milk stains on their blouses and diapers in their purse.
For all the mothers who run carpools and make cookies and sew Halloween costumes. And all the mothers who DON'T.
This is for the mothers who gave birth to babies they'll never see. And the mothers who took those babies and gave them homes.
This is for the mothers whose priceless art collections are hanging on their refrigerator doors.
And for all the mothers who froze their buns on metal bleachers at football , hockey or soccer games instead of watching from the warmth of their cars, so that when their kids asked, 'Did you see me, Mom?' they could say, 'Of course, I wouldn't have missed it for the world,' and mean it.
This is for all the mothers who yell at their kids in the grocery store and swat them in despair when they stomp their feet and scream for ice cream before dinner. And for all the mothers who count to ten instead, but realize how child abuse happens.
This is for all the mothers who sat down with their children and explained all about making babies. And for all the (grand) mothers who wanted to, but just couldn't find the words.
This is for all the mothers who go hungry, so their children can eat.
For all the mothers who read 'Goodnight, Moon' twice a night for a year. And then read it again. 'Just one more time.'
This is for all the mothers who taught their children to tie their shoelaces before they started school. And for all the mothers who opted for Velcro instead.
This is for all the mothers who teach their sons to cook and their daughters to sink a jump shot.
This is for every mother whose head turns automatically when a little voice calls 'Mom?' in a crowd, even though they know their own offspring are at home -- or even away at college.
This is for all the mothers who sent their kids to school with stomach aches, assuring them they'd be just FINE once they got there, only to get calls from the school nurse an hour later asking them to please pick them up. Right away.
This is for mothers whose children have gone astray, who can't find the words to reach them.
For all the mothers who bite their lips until they bleed when their 14 year old dye their hair green.
For all the mothers of the victims of recent school shootings, and the mothers of those who did the shooting.
For the mothers of the survivors, and the mothers who sat in front of their TVs in horror, hugging their child who just came home from school, safely.
This is for all the mothers who taught their children to be peaceful, and now pray they come home safely from a war.
What makes a good Mother anyway?
Is it patience? Compassion? Broad hips? The ability to nurse a baby, cook dinner, and sew a button on a shirt, all at the same time?
Or is it in her heart? Is it the ache you feel when you watch your son or daughter disappear down the street, walking to school alone for the very first time?
The jolt that t takes you from sleep to dread, from bed to crib at 2 A.M. to put your hand on the back of a sleeping baby?
The panic, years later, that comes again at 2 A.M. when you just want to hear their key in the door and know they are safe again in your home?
Or the need to flee from wherever you are and hug your child when you hear news of a fire, a car accident, a child dying?
The emotions of motherhood are universal and so our thoughts are for young mothers stumbling through diaper changes and sleep deprivation...
And mature mothers learning to let go.
For working mothers and stay-at-home mothers.
Single mothers and married mothers.
Mothers with money, mothers without.
This is for you all. For all of us.
Hang in there. In the end we can only do the best we can. Tell them every day that we love them. And pray.
'Home is what catches you when you fall. l - and we all fall.'
