A Jersey man asked his wife what she'd like for her birthday. "I'd love to be eight again." she replied.
On the morning of her birthday, her husband woke up, made her a nice big bowl of Coco Pops, and then took her off to Great Adventure and What a day she had. He put her on every ride in the park: the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Monster Roller Coaster, every thing there was. Five hours later she staggered out of Great Adventure, her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down. After that they went to McDonald's where her loving husband ordered her a Happy Meal with large fries and a chocolate shake. Then it was off to the movies: to see the latest Star Wars epic, get a hot dog, popcorn, all the Coke she could drink, and her favorite lolly pop and M&M's. What a fabulous adventure!
Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted. He leaned over his precious wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, Well, Dear, what was it like being eight again?" Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed. "I meant my dress size!!!!!!!

I Pray That............ May 2009

With all the praise, honor and glory to my savior Jesus Christ, I ask that you accept these words without judgment or offense.


I pray that you know that God is with you always. Whenever it gets rough, don't worry. If ever you feel alone, just pray. Whatever the case may be let God be all that he can be, you're in God army and with him the battle is already won. You're just in training now, training for the race called eternal life. So never give up and never give in. Let God reveal himself to you and you will see what he will do for you.
I want to share a personal story with you. On Wednesday I somehow twisted my right hip muscle and the pain was hurting really bad, but I don't like taking drugs including aspirin. So I didn't do anything on Wednesday. I woke up Thursday morning in even more pain. I got to work, got online and told all my face book friends “I gotta bad hip but I'm waiting for a healing" and said "I'll work my faith and walk it out" and it will be over. Well Thursday afternoon, I twisted the wrong way and pulled a muscle in my back (on the right side) while opening a door for a lady at the DMV.
Well now I'm in terrible pain cause now my hip and my back are aching and every time I took a deep breath my back would ache. I get home and I'm feeling like I just wanna go to bed, but I can't. So I get online and tell all my face book friends "now I have a bum hip and an aching back" but I'm waiting on a healing and I'm gonna take some Motrin for the pain. Well I never took the Motrin until I went to bed. I woke up this morning TOTALLY HEALED, no aches no pains I can't even tell you where the pain was coming from in my back or my hip. Today was the birthday of a co worker of mine and I walked in and we began to dance, (every word of this is true)…Now I know Motrin is supposed to be good and all but I've taken it before and it's never ever worked on pulled muscles...

Two Church memebers were going door to door, and knocked on the door of a woman who was not happy to see them. She told them in no uncertain terms that she did not want to hear their message and slammed the door in their faces. To her surprise, however, the door did not close and, in fact, bounced back open. She tried again, really put her back into it, and slammed the door again with the same result-the door bounced back open.
Convinced these rude young people were sticking their foot in the door, she reared back to give it a slam that would teach them a lesson, when one of them said, "Ma'am, before you do that again, you need to move your cat."

I Pray That............ April 2009

With all the praise, honor and glory to my savior Jesus Christ, I ask that you accept these words without judgment or offense.


I pray that you’re not becoming a victim of your circumstances.
Recently I had the privilege of helping someone in what to them seemed a dire situation. For some it may have looked that way and to others it may not have, the problem wasn't that the situation looked hopeless but how the perceived dire situation was being addressed both physically and mentally. This person immediately upon getting the news of this particular situation immediately began to move every bit of their energy to a negative place. They did everything possible not to deal with the situation directly. They didn't pray on it, didn't ask for help from anyone, and didn’t seek any counsel from anyone. What they did do, was internalize it, cry about it, get angry and created an atmosphere of tension that affected everyone that was directly connected to this person.

So I say to you when something isn't going the way it's supposed to or you get bad news or someone attempts to introduce clouds on your sunny day. Don't immediately react negatively, think before you respond and deal with it directly. One thing I've learned in life is this; it's not what happens to you in your life that defines you but how you deal with it.

By the way for all you young adults, if you’re raising a child or children and they watch (and they will see) how you react to things in life GUESS WHA!!!! They are gonna do the same thing when they grow up, so not only are you becoming a victim of your own circumstances your children are too... Stop the cycle break the chain...

How to resolve the old issue

This is something I read from The Word for you Today: Strength and Guidance for Daily Living booklet and I wanted to share it with our family. May your heart and mind be open to receiving these words:

How to resolve the old issue?

There's no point asking God for other things when you haven't made things right with those you need to forgive, or ask forgiveness from. Jesus said, "If you are offering your gifts at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift. Settle matters quickly with your adversary" (Matthew 5:23-25 NIV). Don't be led by your wounded ego, be led by God's Word.

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5:16). Share your feelings with someone worthy of your trust. Pray with them, openly confessing your wrongs and the guilt you feel. You'll be surprised how prayer and the presence of an affirming friend can provide you with the peace of mind you seek.

I Pray That............ March 2009

With all the praise, honor and glory to my savior Jesus Christ, I ask that you accept these words without judgment or offense.

I pray that we are living in the light of positivity.

Is it just me or has this been a longggggggggg winter, I say this because I believe it's beginning to affect the day to day outlook of some of the people (myself included) I've been in contact with recently.

Over the last 4 weeks or so I've been noticing a change in the behavior of people. Whether it's online, via phone or face to face seems this winter has not bought out the best in people. Last week alone I watched my Facebook friends (family too) update their pages with a negative statuses. I mean people who would otherwise be happy are very pessimistic these days.

One day last week I went to bed with my spirit sorta broken and I went to bed with some CRAZY thoughts in my head and I began to speak of what CRAZY things I was going to do because I went to bed in that mind set. The next morning, like usual when I woke up I kissed my wife and went on my way to work.

This particular morning I guess because I was so focused on what was bothering me. I took notice of the Moon as it was setting and the Sun as it began to rise and thought to my self WOW, but I watch this all the time I usually don't make mention of it. In the midst of watching this, a song named " God put a Rainbow in the Sky" by Mahalia Jackson came on the radio.

By the end of the song, everything I was upset about the night before was no longer affecting my spirit. I began to thank God and realize how blessed I am every morning on my way to work to be able to see the Moon Set and the Sun rise and on this particular morning for me "God Put a Rainbow a in the Sky" and I'm not special so if he'll do it for me he'll do it for you too. Just when It looks like the sun ain't gonna shine anymore, God will put a rainbow in the sky for you too, believe me..
So the next time you feeling a little pessimistic about your situation, just remember not to let the thoughts in your mind affect the words that come out of your mouth for they will manifest in the actions of your day.

Joke of the Month.............. March 2009

A little boy was excited about his first day at school, so excited in fact, that only a few minutes after class started, he realized that he desperately needed to go to the bathroom. So he raised his hand politely to ask if he could be excused. Of course the teacher said yes, but asked him to be quick.

Five minutes later he returned, looking more desperate and embarrassed. "I can't find it", he admitted.The teacher sat him down and drew him a little diagram to where he should go and asked him if he will be able to find it now. The boy looked at the diagram, said "yes" and goes on his way.
Five minutes later he returned to the class room and says to the teacher "I can't find it".
Frustrated, the teacher asked Jon, a boy who has been at the school for awhile, to help him find the bathroom.

So the two fellas go together and five minutes later they both return and sit down at their seats. The teacher asks Jon, "Well, did you find it?"

Jon replied: "Yes, he just had his boxer shorts on backwards"

A married couple was in a terrible accident where the woman's face was severely burned. The doctor told the husband that they couldn't graft any skin from her body because she was too skinny. So the husband offered to donate some of his own skin. However, the only skin on his body that the doctor felt was suitable would have to come from his buttocks.
The husband and wife agreed that they would tell no one about where the skin came from, and requested that the doctor also honor their secret. After all, this was a very delicate matter.
After the surgery was completed, everyone was astounded at the woman's new beauty. She looked more beautiful than she ever had before! All her friends and relatives just went on and on about her youthful beauty!
One day, she was alone with her husband, and she was overcome with emotion at his sacrifice.
She said, "Dear, I just want to thank you for everything you did for me. There is no way I could ever repay you."
"My darling," he replied, "think nothing of it. I get all the thanks I need every time I see your mother kiss you on the cheek."

I Pray That.................February 2009

With all the praise, honor and glory to my savior Jesus Christ, I ask that you accept these words without judgment or offense.

I pray that we are not “Sinking in the Pew”.

I was actually going to make this last month’s “I Pray That”, but I wanted to start the start the year asking one to be more positive in ones thinking for the New Year.

When you’re done reading this, ask yourself “is this me” because behavior by a few close brought these thoughts to the forefront of my mind and made me think “are you like this Eddie?” Many of our family members are ritualistic church goers many of us go two or more times a week and many of us (myself included) go less than we probably should and some of us none at all.
I can tell you this though whether you go everyday or not at all need you to make sure you’re not professing the love of Jesus and living deep in sin with your soul is deeply stained within.

Some of us who go to church, think paying our tithes and going to church but not heading the word is enough to get you into heaven, when many of us leave church so has the message.

Some of us go to churches where the predominate message is “prosperity” and we use that to justify our lust for everything in this world. Some of us go to churches where the pastor has obtained celebrity status or a level of fame (myself included, don’t worry I’m gonna talk about me).

Some of think that listening exclusively to Gospel music and not going regularly to church is OK.

Well we are all wrong, it’s not about how or where or who you receive the word of God, it’s how you apply the word to your life. I want you to do me a favor and go to another church for a month (4 Sundays) and see how God’s word is similar or differs from what you get week after week from your pastor. You need to read your bible and follow the Word of God more than you listen to the word of man. Be reminded many of the preachers we are we receive God’s Word from are themselves SINKING, many of the choir members SINKING, ushers SINKING, my point is many in the church aren’t living as an example.

The ancestors of this family are founders of a church, one of our aunt’s is a pastor another aunt highly respected in the church but STILL many of us are SINKING, why is this? I think we think because of our connection to such people we think God see’s us like ~~~~~~~~and he see’s us like _______. We need to stop relying on the person who gives us the Word of God to save us and read your bible and use the Word of God to save ourselves.

I Pray That.................January 2009

With all the praise, honor and glory to my savior Jesus Christ, I ask that you accept these words without judgment or offense.

I Pray that we are not "fair weather friends of God".

With the holidays, I'm always amazed at the amount of caring I see during this time of the year, but it doesn't seem to carry pass January 2nd. Just the the resolutions people seem to forget them within a short time after making them. I've been off work for the last 2 weeks and I am very perceptive of my surrounding and I make it my business to "people watch" whether I'm walking the street, driving my car or strolling the mall. While on vacation I noticed people were very nice and accommodating probably because it was the holidays, but I also noticed the moment the holidays were over and people were back to the grind the sense of caring was GONE, case and point.

Every Saturday morning before I get to the barbershop I grab a Tea from my local Dunkin Donuts and there is a homeless man that's outside this DND everyday, he doesn't ask for anything, but his situation is apparent. Now EVERYDAY I saw this man BEFORE Christmas, I noticed this homeless man had a cup of coffee, a newspaper and a danish, donut or croissant, it was apparent to me people had been giving him things because of the holiday. Why isn't this the case all year long? Remember what the bible says about giving to those less fortunate than us in the Book of Luke (14:14) "Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

But why does someone have to be less fortunate than you, we should give all the time without provocation (Acts 20:35) for remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: "It is more blessed to give than to receive.". I can't tell you how living this way has enriched my life, if I told you what I did, helped and gave to people last year alone you would not believe me and I do it all ANONYMOUSLY, 99% of the time they never know who did it.

I ask that you let me stand as your example, GOD has allowed me to receive more than I could have ever dreamed of in my life and I don't give to be blessed by God (great by product though) I give because of how It makes me feel inside. There is no other feeling in the world like the feeling of knowing how you can positively affects someone else life.

The next time you look, walk or drive pass a homeless person and DO NOTHING remember these two things:

1. "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it"

2. The King will answer them, "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."

This Months' Praise and Worship Song is........... "Anything" by Alvin Slaughter.

This song just affirms what I and we all should already know, as the title of the song implies. GOD CAN DO "ANYTHING" ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING, HE CAN DO EVERYTHING BUT FAIL.......My God, My God, this song is on point...This song will be a gospel classic, I can see it. Alvin has one of the best voices in gospel and God is definitely moving through him. The beat is perfect for anyone who likes LIVE instruments and a nice groove (like myself). This is one of my favorites and it is in current rotation in my CD player and on my Ipod.
